What it does

Google truncates titles at roughly 600 pixels and descriptions at roughly 920 pixels on desktop. Wide letters such as W take more room than narrow ones such as i, so pixel width matters more than character count.

How to use it

  1. Enter the title, URL and description.
  2. Check the estimated widths and truncated preview.
  3. Edit until nothing important is cut off.

Questions

Is this exactly what Google shows?

No tool can promise that. Google may rewrite titles and descriptions, and font rendering varies. Treat the preview as a close estimate.

Why pixels instead of characters?

Google’s cutoff depends on rendered width. A 55-character title in capitals can be truncated while a 65-character lowercase one fits.
