    Result

Results appear here after you select “Compress”.

    What it does

Scanned documents are often far larger than they need to be. Each page is rendered and resaved as a compressed image inside a new PDF. Text in the result is not selectable, so use it for scans, not for text documents you need to search.

    How to use it

    1. Choose a PDF.
    2. Pick a quality level.
    3. Compress, compare the sizes and download.

    Example

The example generates a small sample file in your browser and runs the tool on it. Select Try an example above to see it.

    When it helps

    • Meeting upload limits on government and job portals.
    • Emailing scanned contracts.
    • Archiving phone scans.

    Questions

    Will text stay searchable?

No. Pages become images. For text based PDFs the file may even grow; the tool tells you if so.

    Which quality should I pick?

Medium (150 DPI) keeps documents readable at a fraction of the size.
