    What it does

Photos from phones can contain the GPS coordinates where they were taken, the device model and the exact time. Before posting a photo publicly, check it here and strip that data.

    How to use it

    1. Choose a JPEG or PNG.
    2. Review the metadata blocks found.
    3. Download the cleaned copy.

    When it helps

    • Selling items online without revealing your home location.
    • Publishing screenshots without editor history.
    • Privacy checks before sharing family photos.

    Questions

    How is metadata removed?

The pixels are redrawn onto a blank canvas and reencoded, which writes a new file containing image data only.

    Will orientation change?

No. The orientation flag is applied to the pixels before saving, so the photo still appears the right way up.
