    What it does

Application portals often reject photos over a size limit. Enter the limit and the tool searches for the highest JPEG quality that fits, shrinking the dimensions only if quality alone is not enough.

    How to use it

    1. Choose a photo.
    2. Enter the maximum size in KB.
    3. Compress and download the result.

    Example

The example generates a small sample file in your browser and runs the tool on it. Select Try an example above to see it.

    When it helps

    • Visa, job and university application forms.
    • Email attachments with size limits.
    • Profile photo uploads.

    Questions

    How small can it go?

Down to about 5 KB, though very small sizes make photos visibly soft.

    Is the output always JPEG?

Yes. JPEG gives the smallest files for photos; transparent areas become white.
